R-035 District Traditional Opens Up
The owners of this very solid, three-story white-brick, Traditional in the
District wanted larger, lighter, and more modern entertaining and living areas
for guests and families. They gave up some of the back yard to invite
the outdoors in. The open dining area, with its elegant trio of stained
glass windows, is an island of quiet at any time of year. Molding details
of the coffered ceiling are a mesmerizing view from the couch or even the
floor if so inclined. Architectural themes are repeated over and over,
making transitions throughout the house with duplication of original molding
styles. Old blends into new when you move through halls and doorways to the
upstairs and into a splendid master bedroom and bath, created above the new
family room and kitchen.
