CH-004 Great Falls Timberframe

Structure is the hallmark of this project, built in 1986 in Great Falls, VA.
The house is a unique blend of time tested structural building systems merged with contemporary designs, such as solar panels and the skin of this house is super insulated for energy efficiency.
Held together entirely with post and beam construction, joined with wooden pegs, it will stand for centuries like its predecessor structures in Europe and areas of the US with harsh climatic conditions.
The interior details included handcrafted wooden, spiral staircases and balconies overlooking grand, open interior spaces with the post and beam work exposed and highlighted.
