Chevy Chase Attention to Detail

The owner of this house is an artist who wanted to be sure the new living areas would not look “like an addition” to this unusual brick Tudor fitted into a city hillscape. Klockner’s crew moved the bookcase from it’s former location then added more shelves, a top row, and finally, tucked a sunny window seat into the corner. An eye for detail is common to owner, architect, and builder. The owner agreed to give up a prized bow window in the former dining room, if the curve would be carried out elsewhere in the new design. She smiled when she saw our carpenter/supervisor, Larry Neal, unveil the curved bookcase that acts as a service area on the dining room side. He built the arched single step on a day she could be there to see the curved designed element appear again.

More photos to come soon.
